NPFL 2026: Kun Khalifat add two players on deals through 2028

Kun Khalifat have brought in Chijioke Ahiaeke and Mohammad Musa as they reshape the squad after a difficult NPFL 2026 campaign.

Kun Khalifat FC have added two players to their squad, with Chijioke Ahiaeke and Mohammad Musa both signing contracts that run through 2028. The move comes as the Owerri-based club rebuilds ahead of the new campaign.

Kun Khalifat currently sit 17th in the Nigeria Professional Football League, with 45 points from 35 matches. Their record stands at 12 wins, nine draws and 14 defeats, while their goals record is balanced at 38 scored and 38 conceded.

Musa joins from DS FC, a non-league team, giving Kun Khalifat another senior addition as they reshape their squad. Ahiaeke has come through the club’s youth ranks and has now been moved into the first-team group.

The recruitment follows the departure of several of Kun Khalifat’s leading players. The club avoided relegation on the final day of the previous campaign, and the additions of Musa and Ahiaeke provide two fresh options as they prepare for another NPFL season.

Their recent results offer a more positive picture than their current position. Kun Khalifat have won four of their last five matches, beating Wikki Tourist 3-1, Abia Warriors 2-0, Kano Pillars 2-1 and Warri Wolves 3-0. The run also includes a 1-1 draw away to Plateau United.

Kun Khalifat’s next league fixture is away to Abia Warriors on 30 August 2026. They will enter that match after a strong run of form, although their 17th-place standing shows the scale of the task still facing the squad as the club continues its rebuilding process.
